What 10 morning routines makes you successful?

Begin your day stressed, unfocused, unproductive and without any morning routine and you’ll likely have a stressed, unfocused, and unproductive day. Start it strong, however, and you’ll likely have a productive, focused, and energetic day. An hour lost in the early morning means a whole day lost and you will have to try hard to get back that lost time.

You know what makes highly successful people less stressed, happier and more productive? They know that their personal priorities are worth more than other people’s priorities.

Upon waking up, these significantly successful professionals don’t immediately check their email – they make it a point to claim the early hours of the day as their “me” time.

After all, these extraordinary people believe that if their priority needs to be done, then it has to be done first.

What do highly successful entrepreneurs and executives do upon waking up in the morning?

Let’s learn the 10 Ten morning routines of successful person do after waking up.

10 Morning Routines that make you success

1. Wake up early and at the same time every day.

Surely you know that time is an invaluable asset. Highly successful people take it up a notch by waking up at 5:30 am, 4:30 am and even 4:00 am. Not only will they have more control in their early hours, they’ll also have more opportunities to do things that matter to them.

Start with waking up 15 minutes earlier than your usual time. Then, gradually adjust. Your circadian rhythm (system that regulates your sleep cycle) may cause your body to naturally wake up at a similar time every day, even on weekends. If it doesn’t, set an alarm clock, and keep it far away from your bed, so you have to get up to turn it off. Try to avoid relying on the snooze button; hitting it repeatedly and going back to sleep for short periods confuses your body, makes you feel sluggish and foggy later, and throws off your internal clock. Instead, set your alarm for the time you actually need or want to get up — and stick to it!

Keeping yourself on a schedule helps you sleep better. That’s why it’s also important to go to bed at the same time every night. And while you may relish those extra hours you get to sleep in on weekends, it’s best to resist temptation, because keeping yourself on a regular sleep schedule will allow you to sleep better — and have more energy — overall.

2. Drink Water.

Grabbing a cup of coffee first thing in the morning as morning routines may seem like the logical choice, but health experts say water is better. After going several hours without H2O, a serving of water first thing can hydrate the body while aiding digestion and metabolism. Water is an essential nutrient, and the organs and tissues in your body depend on it to function. Make it your morning routines.

Since your body loses water regularly, you need to compensate for these losses to avoid dehydration. Actress and author Cameron Diaz swears by this practice: “It’s very important to start your day off with a lot of energy,” she says. “For me, that starts with getting up, brushing my teeth, and drinking some water—I drink a litre of water straight down.” A refreshing glass of water can revitalize you and help you feel more positive about and prepared for the day ahead.

3. Doing Exercise as morning routines.

Richard Branson said that “No matter where I am in the world, I try to routinely wake up at around 5 am. By rising early, I’m able to do some exercise and spend time with my family, which puts me in a great mind frame before getting down to business.”

Exercise is one of the keystone habits that tends to improve many other areas of your life as well. According to research, people who regularly exercise are proven to be happier and more productive.

Morning exercise is a daily habit of many successful leaders. Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates likes to multitask during his morning treadmill workouts by watching DVDs while exercising, according to The New York Times. As Niki Leondakis, the CEO of the luxury lifestyle brand Equinox, who regularly does morning yoga, puts it, “I’ve always known that you have to be physically healthy and strong to be mentally healthy and strong. It’s all connected.”

4. Meditate.

Meditation has many benefits, including promoting awareness, decreasing stress and anxiety, helping you sleep better, and promoting your well-being overall. That’s probably why so many successful women, including Oprah and Arianna, add it to their morning agendas.

Meditating in the morning sets the right tone for the day and keeps you calm. Plus, if you meditate in the morning as opposed to later in the day, you’ll ensure that you actually do it, and you can check it off your to-do list early.

You don’t need to meditate for an hour; chances are, you don’t have time for that anyway. Even a few minutes can relax you and get you into a positive mindset. If you’re having trouble getting started, try a five-or 10-minute guided meditation. Like many other skills, meditation takes practice, so don’t be discouraged if you find your thoughts wandering at first.

5. Eat Breakfast.

You’ve probably heard that eating breakfast kick starts your metabolism, and that skipping breakfast is associated with weight gain. The former is certainly true, while the latter is open to some debate. However, skipping breakfast has a number of consequences. It may also make you feel less energetic, and thus expend fewer calories over the course of the day.

Eating breakfast has a number of important benefits, including a lower risk for diabetes (compared with those who skip it) and improved cognitive function. Breakfast isn’t just important for your body, but it’s necessary for your brain as well; your concentration and productivity are greatly improved when you eat in the morning.

6. Connect with your loved one.

Many top performers make their intimate relationships a priority. In the morning, they take some time to connect with their loved ones. When I start my day by connecting with my girlfriend, I’m immediately in a positive state of mind.

As a morning routines, use your morning hours to reconnect with your partner. Talk about your plans, your finances and even your beloved hobbies as a way to always be present in their lives.

In the morning, highly successful people know that they’ll have more energy and more focus so making this a ritual is paramount.

You can even set up one day of the week as your “breakfast date”. Go to the nearest cafe for breakfast or run around the neighbourhood with your partner. It may do wonders for your relationship.

7. Plan and strategise.

If you don’t take a few minutes of your morning routines time to map out the direction of your day, how will you know if you’re headed towards the right direction?

Take at least 10 minutes of your day to visualize your life goals, review your tasks for the day and allot schedules for breaks.

It’ll help your day be more manageable and less stressful.

Make a list of tasks you want to accomplish early, before you head to work. Because of you’ll have plenty of the aforementioned willpower, you’ll be able to check off items quickly.

Don’t make your list overly ambitious; the tasks should be meaningful and contribute to the overall success of your day, but still attainable. You don’t want to feel discouraged if you can’t get to everything on a list that’s too long.

8. Read a Book

Every book you read equips you with more lessons and insights that make you a highly skilled individual. And when you start your day by reading non-fiction books, you feed your mind high-quality input, which leads to new ideas, breakthroughs, and higher motivation that you benefit from throughout the rest of your day. This is why people like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Arianna Huffington, and Warren Buffett read so many books.

Warren Buffett, while pointing to a stack of books, said that “Read 500 pages like this every day. That’s how knowledge works. It builds up, like compound interest. All of you can do it, but I guarantee not many of you will do it.”

9. Accomplish an important task first.

Your willpower is strongest in the morning, so try to accomplish — or at least put some effort toward making headway on — a task that will give you a head start on your day. It is a concept suggested by Brian Tracy, a great author for the book Eat That Frog.

In the morning, the willpower of highly successful people is fresh and ready to go. So, this is the best time to take advantage of it – do your hardest task, your “frog” first.

This way, you’re more likely to get it done and you’re more likely to finish it without other people barging in on you.

Choose your “frog” of the day – only one – and stick to completing it before you even get to eat breakfast.

What you decide to do depends on your personal and career goals. You might jot down some notes for a meeting or get started on a project. Ultimately, you should choose a task that requires self-control and concentration to complete — this will help enable you to have a more productive day overall. Your motivation and willpower will be lower later in the day, so accomplishing an important task now will mean you won’t have to do it later, when you’re tired and less willing or able to focus.

10.  Finally review your long-term Goal.

This is the most difficult task of the day but this is one of the important thing to do as a morning routines and can be done by self-reflection. This helps us to realise whether we are moving towards our goal and have not lost sight of them.

Steve Jobs usually did this thing and asked a fundamental question in the mirror every morning: “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today? If the answer is no for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.” This self-awareness technique is genius. Imagine waking up every morning not wanting to do your job and feel that way for months or years on end. If you’re answering no to this question day after day, it’s likely time to make a career change.

I’m impressed, I have to admit. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s both equally educative and engaging, and without a doubt, you have hit the nail on the head. The problem is something not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about. I’m very happy I found this in my search for something relating to this.
